Acacia Crossroads

We stand now at a crossroads regarding the Acacia, and it's understanding both culturally and neurochemically, stretching to future and past. The common idea of acacias, in the entheogenic world, as primarily a DMT source is incomplete and more often inaccurate - they are much more than that. And contains a lot more of interest.

This talk will look at some of the lesser-known but fairly common medicinal and psychoactive compounds in Acacia sensu lato (worldwide) which have important applications, barely yet explored by the scientific world. And also, we will look at the profound cultural/spiritual significance of these trees, which sets them apart from other kinds of healing or sacred plants. Will we wisely and sustainably embrace the uniqueness of these gatekeepers, or will their true power become diluted in a generic approach to entheogens, psychology and pharmacology? This is the crossroads.

Amongst other things, we will discuss very recent, significant and not widely known phytochemical findings in some species. And he will discuss very old maps of the Acacian dimension, and medicinal usage, from indigenous songlines, to vedic, buddhist, middle eastern and other ancient systems. As well as the reasons for high levels of secrecy in all these areas of knowledge, again bringing us to a crossroads.

In this, a rare public talk, Nen will also discuss forthcoming publication, many years in preparation, and future projects to preserve and bring wider awareness on these trees, as well as protection and honouring.
