DJ Kundalini (Mari Kundalini) is a respected and long-standing figure in Melbourne’s underground electronic music scene, with over three decades of creative evolution across sound, performance, and installation art. With roots in theater, classical singing and opera, her early foundation in the performing arts laid the groundwork for a multidisciplinary ride that has since become deeply embedded in the electronic music scene, with an unwavering commitment to the culture.
Kundalini brings an unmistakable presence to every set. She is known for her emotional range, rich textures, and harmonic storytelling as she seamlessly blends world-inspired, Organic Downtempo, Tech house, Afro beats, Psychedelic trance, and beyond, all layered with vibe-heavy rhythms that bounce deep with soul. Her sets are immersive experiences rooted in vibration, connection and intended to uplift.
Her versatility as both a DJ and multidisciplinary artist has earned her a place at many of Australia’s most esteemed and largest Music festivals, clubs, warehouse raves, corporate events, benefits, and ceremonial gatherings. Kundalini has released music through labels such as Green Ant Australia, Mushroom Music, and Anoyo Japan, and her repertoire includes collaborations with notable producers across original ambient, psytrance, and house music. Her creative partnerships include work with artists like Sugar, House of Pagan Christians, Signal to Noise, and Mantrix. She is also featured in the online techno documentary Sounds Like Techno.
