Kayla Greenstien

Kayla Greenstien is a PhD Candidate at the University of Sydney, researching the use of touch and theoretical underpinnings of psychedelic-assisted therapies.

Before starting a PhD, Kayla worked at the Canberra Rape Crisis Center and Domestic Violence Crisis Service, and was a research assistant on the National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children. Kayla takes an intersectional feminist approach to psychedelic therapies, focusing on gender and power dynamics. Their article "Let Go and Surrender: Considerations on MMDA Couples Therapy and Coercive Control" highlights some of these issues. Kayla also wrote about the Ben Sessa case and various other absurdities in psychedelic research and frequent rants on BlueSky. Despite popular belief, Kayla is not an undercover Psymposia operative.
